GREENWICH DAY USE FACILITY
The Greenwich Day Use Facility is based on sustainable development principles. The project features renewable energy systems (wind turbine and photo voltac), biological sewage treatment, orientation to provide a variety of outdoor spaces, local building materials, and architectural vernacular, low impact floating boardwalk access and a landscape restoration strategy.
BDA recieved the 2001 National Merit and Regional Honour award from the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects and was nominated as a poster submission at the international ‘Green Building Challenge 2000’ in the Netherlands.
