BDA prepared a development vision for Centre Ville D’Edmundston in 2008 which includes a streetscape improvement plan, mixed use infill projects, a strategy to strengthen the role of arts and culture, and a green plan. The first phase of construction was completed in 2010 and includes the redevelopment of the intersection of Chemin Canada and Rue de L’Eglise and the reconstruction of rue L’Eglise to rue Hill. This includes a new streetscape with granite curbs, unit paving sidewalk, historic lights, trees, and planters. Assomption Place Square was also revitalized with a sculptural focal point, LED lighting, trees and horticultural planting.
